Divergence Press

Divergence Press is an online, open access, peer-reviewed journal and resource hub for contemporary music, hosted by the Centre for Research in New Music (CeReNeM) at the University of Huddersfield. The journal publishes work that examines current practices in composition, performance, sonic arts, musical multimedia, creative uses of music technology, and other multidisciplinary work engaging with sound, space, and performance.

Divergence Press operates a rolling publication model; articles are published as they complete the peer review process, and are organised around a collection of six threads:

Divergence Press is also the home of a digital archive of contemporary music resources from the physical archives of the British Music Collection (the former archive of the British Music Information Centre), the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, and the Society for the Promotion of New Music, all housed at Heritage Quay, the archive of the University of Huddersfield.
